This series of Iceland “maps” are designed by Snorri Thor, the founder of Maps of Iceland. The flowers are picked during the summer months, arranged carefully on a white surface where they are picked and a single photograph is then taken of the flowers.
This particular map shows Arctic Thyme, a common flower throughout Iceland. This thyme has a strong scent similar to Oregano and can be used in cuisine. In Iceland it is often used for teas, tinctures and as an ingredient for marinates.
